It's a long way to March

My great great grandparents took twelve weeks to sail from London to Sydney in 1849. June and I flew for 21 hours (8 to Singapore, 13 to London), took a coach for 3 hours (Heathrow to Cambridge), and drove an hour (from Cambridge to our B&B on the River Neve in the Fenlands of East Anglia). We are exhausted  and I think I would rather have sailed, but here we are.

This afternoon we unpacked and went for a long, long, cold and windy walk to March (the nearest town) along the river. We saw swans nesting, and have also spotted: a rookery of Rook nests in trees; Wood Pigeons; unknown raptors swooping on prey; sparrows and English Magpies.

Everyone we have met has been lovely and helpful.  British Airways in Singapore  sorted our seating problem; Immigration and Customs at Heathrow were  a walk through; our coach driver let us catch an earlier coach even though we didn't have a flexi ticket; and Sixt added a second driver at no cost when we upgraded from a manual car to an automatic.  Now, if I could just get my eSim to work as well as June's does!
