London landmarks and Monopoly streets

We had a very smooth trip from Cambridge via bus, train and tube (thanks to June's planning) and are now at Lancaster Gate Hotel near Kensington Gardens in London. Pete says he stayed here once a long time ago. It's very respectable now.

This afternoon we walked (15147 steps!) to Sir John Soane's Museum in Lincoln Inn Fields. He was an architect and antiquarian and his house is preserved just as it was when he died, with his collection of books, coins, paintings and bits and pieces of ancient statues. June thinks he was a hoarder ... there was stuff everywhere. On the way we visited the Liberty store which is a very upmarket department store in a stunning Tudor style building.

. I love that we were walking down  Monopoly streets like Regent Street, Oxford Street  Bond Street and Mayfair.  Soho and Carnaby Street also had lovely shops. There were people everywhere.  However, public toilets are hard to find.

We saw squirrels in Kensington Gardens on the way home. If i were a dog i would be panting and pointing enthusiastically. "Squirrel!"
