Peace and tranquility

We collected our MG from Eurocar in Swansea and drove up through the Brecon Beacons to the Mountains Visitor Centre.  Our walk up past fields of cows and sheep to the remnants of a Roman fort.
We had lunch at the Visitor Centre and then drove to Dorstone where 4th great grandfather James Jenkins was baptised in St Faiths Church. James and his brother William were transported to NSW and James became a rich man there.  Dorstone is a beautiful little village.

June only found one Jenkins headstone in the graveyard.

We visited the National Trust Weir Garden on the River Nye which had a lovely walk along the river with wildflowers and swans and more Roman ruins.
Now we are tucked up in a room which used to be the servants' quarters in the attic on the second floor.
June keeps promising me a day off but today I did 19,489 steps. My joints are creaking and so is my bed. More walking tomorrow but this part of Wales is very beautiful.
